The Democratic People's Republic of Cat Hill (DPRCH), also called Cat Hill or Cat Nation, is one of the two principal nations on the Create Server. It describes itself as a socialist and syndicalist nation. Its recorded governmental body is a workers' council whose members were told they held equal power and that there was no leader.[1]
Formation
The surviving council record begins on 27 August when Shiby described a private group as the DPRCH council and told its participants that they were council members. The early discussion proposed portfolios including labor, national defense, agriculture, internal affairs, propaganda, and foreign affairs. Only some participants responded to proposed assignments, so this wiki does not treat the complete ministry list as ratified.
Government and ideology
The DPRCH's model combines a leaderless workers' council with socialist and syndicalist language. Industrial labor, collective projects, defensive construction, and material support for members are recurring themes. When TongsXD asked whether a nomadic lifestyle was compatible with citizenship, catgirlfeet replied that contribution would be required to participate in national projects and receive government benefits. Housing assistance was then offered in the council's usual half-serious administrative style.[2]
Membership
The server owner's roster identifies catgirlfeet, catnipsmoke, Curb_Y, DevBuiId, MadShib, and BoiOree as Cat Hill members. SockMonkeyyy was an early council member and briefly accepted a commissar role, but left the nation on 29 August. TongsXD is closer to Cat Hill than the Empire but remains politically between the blocs.
Territory and projects
Cat Hill is the nation's core territory. The exact border has not been formally surveyed in the available record. On 30 August, Spawn Island was described as an autonomous region of the DPRCH. Planned national projects included a mine, manufactorum, cannon factory, bunkers, turrets, farms, housing, power systems, and transport links. The logs distinguish plans from finished builds, sometimes with more honesty than the planners did.
Foreign relations
The DPRCH's principal rival is The Empire. A Draft Non-Aggression Treaty was circulated on 28 August but is not shown as signed. DPRCH discussion combined preparations for defense with repeated claims that open war was undesirable. See Cat Hill–Empire Cold War.
