The departure of SockMonkeyyy from Cat Hill was the withdrawal of SockMonkeyyy from the Democratic People's Republic of Cat Hill on 29 August 2026.
Background
SockMonkeyyy had been included in the original DPRCH Council and briefly served as commissar. He later acted as a go-between with The Empire, drafted the proposed Draft Non-Aggression Treaty, and was accused by participants on both sides of aggravating tensions.
Departure
On 29 August he requested Cat Hill citizenship without residence. Council members objected that citizenship required a clearer commitment. Later that evening he said he had not benefited from membership, announced that he would “peacefully exit” Cat Hill, and said he needed to “forge [his] own path.”[1]
Public Minecraft chat from earlier that day independently records catgirlfeet saying that SockMonkeyyy had left Cat Hill.[2]
Aftermath
The departure was verbal and peaceful. It did not lead to a battle, property seizure, or formal ban. He subsequently became independent or nomadic. As of 31 August, he remained in contact with both blocs. Members of both nations alleged that he spread misinformation or fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD), but the allegations remained unresolved.[3]
