The 5 September mine incident was a series of explosions and a subsequent dispute on the Create Server. Players reported damage around Nether portals, the Cat Hill capitol and other builds. Sophia identified a block as a netherrack mine and reported that examined mines displayed Jude as their owner. catgirlfeet later independently read out the same owner name in chat. The investigation was followed by threats, reported retaliation and discussion of restoration.[1]
Initial reports
At 00:03 UTC, Isaac reported that a portal had exploded. Tyson said that part of his house had also blown up. More explosions were reported near Isaac's portal at 03:37. Players initially considered several causes, including mines, mobs and mod behavior.[2]
Investigation and attribution
Isaac and Sophia inspected suspect blocks in the Nether. Sophia identified a netherrack mine at 06:46 and asked Jude why the mines carried his name at 06:49. At 07:09, catgirlfeet reported the owner as Jude. These are contemporaneous reports of an ownership check. They do not establish the number of mines, the time every mine was placed, or who authorized their placement.[3]
Isaac searched craters and filled damage, but reported triggering another mine while doing so. Sophia questioned why explosive blocks remained inside existing craters. During the same period, Sophia also stated that one mine was her own test placement, so the investigation itself included controlled testing as well as searches for earlier mines.[4]
Dispute and retaliation
Oxy described the devices as traps and noted that keep-inventory was enabled. Catgirlfeet and Sophia replied that damage to buildings still fell under the server's griefing rules. Catgirlfeet asked Oxy, Cat Hill's Interim Commissar of Defense, to find and imprison Jude. Oxy said she was away from the area and would return later. The request is not evidence that an arrest occurred.[5]
At 07:50, catgirlfeet said that Sophia had retaliated and that the server had crashed. The surrounding discussion concerned lost property, repair options and whether a rollback would erase other players' progress. The public chat does not establish a formal declaration of war, a final punishment, or a completed diplomatic settlement.[6]
Recorded losses and repairs
The activity log records Tyson and Isaac dying in explosions at 07:02 and 07:04, Shiby at 07:42, and Jude at 07:42. These entries record game deaths without proving that every explosion had the same source.[7]
The named wolf Penjamin Franklin, owned by catgirlfeet, also died in an explosion at 07:42:58. Earlier, the death log recorded the wolf killing Jude. Those messages establish the in-game events, but not who caused the explosion that killed the wolf.[8]
Isaac reported filling craters and searching for remaining mines. Catgirlfeet offered to replace lost items and asked Tyson and Jude to check their inventories. Selective restoration was discussed alongside opposition to a broader rollback.[9]
The server activity log records Penjamin Franklin being summoned again at 08:31:58, followed by three entity-data updates.[10]
Treaty context
The Treaty of Chickaloon prohibits harmful explosions affecting Cat Hill and provides for containment, restoration and diplomatic compensation. Any military response is a Council decision rather than an automatic treaty consequence. The treaty text does not by itself determine responsibility for each explosion during the incident.[11]
